Faith Revealed

According to Christianity Today, editor-in-chief Marvin Olasky officially retired from his full-time journalistic career on Friday, marking the end of a tenure that spanned more than five decades. The announcement confirms that his final day at the publication concludes a professional journey that began in the summer of 1970.

Olasky’s career in news media started with an internship at The Boston Globe. Over the subsequent years, he held various positions in Oregon, Texas, New York, and North Carolina. His professional portfolio includes freelance contributions to approximately 450 different publications.

In addition to his reporting roles, Olasky served as the editor-in-chief for two major Christian news organizations. He led World magazine from 1994 until 2021 before transitioning to his most recent role at Christianity Today in 2025.

Reflecting on his departure, Olasky stated, "I have been blessed to spend my life reporting on the news."

The transition follows a period of organizational changes at the publication. During his time at Christianity Today, Olasky oversaw editorial operations and contributed to the magazine's long-form reporting projects. His departure marks the end of his active employment in the newsroom.

The publication has not yet named a permanent successor to fill the position vacated by Olasky. According to the organization, the editorial department will continue its current operations under existing leadership until a formal replacement is announced.

The board of directors is expected to release a statement regarding the future editorial structure of the magazine in the coming weeks. Official updates will be posted to the publication’s website once the leadership transition process is finalized.
